John W. Ruffin

President

Mr. Ruffin founded the company in 1991 and is an integral part of the strategic management and leadership of the company.

Under Mr. Ruffin’s guidance, the company has grown from a single treatment unit to two modern facilities in southeastern Virginia. Mr. Ruffin continues to direct the growth of the company, purposefully seeking opportunities for service growth as well as geographic expansion.         

While Mr. Ruffin continues to remain focused on serving a diverse and growing customer base, he takes great pride in the competence, professionalism and attention to safety demonstrated by all within the company.

Mr. Ruffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Norfolk Academy.

Hunter D. McCaa

Vice President

Mr. McCaa joined Clearfield MMG in 2007 and leads the operations team, with direct responsibility for project estimating and marketing/communications initiatives. 

Prior to joining Clearfield, Mr. McCaa held several positions in sales, marketing and distribution. He is a native to the area and is involved in several local charities and organizations. Mr. McCaa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampden-Sydney College and a Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary.

Chuck Harrell

Senior Project Manager

Joining the company in 2012, Mr. Harrell serves as the Senior Project Manager, with direct responsibility for all operations within the field services unit. 

Mr. Harrell has been active in the solid waste and environmental industry since 1992.  Prior to joining Clearfield, he served as the senior manager of a large municipal landfill, where he led the environmental permitting, compliance and operations group.

Mr. Harrell is a licensed Class A contractor, Virginia Waste Management Facility Operator and Asbestos Supervisor.

Willcox K. Ruffin

Safety and Environmental Manager

Will provides leadership for the Safety and Environmental Department, which includes direct oversight of all environmental permitting, compliance and safety initiatives. 

Prior to joining Clearfield, Will worked in sales and distribution for a national industrial parts supplier.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Roanoke College and is a licensed Virginia Waste Management Facility Operator.
